Healthy Lifestyle
Published Kawana Weekly 4th April 2013
Its where business meets the sea. Or at least that how Mark McMahon, senior development manager at Stockland, sees the growing environment at Oceanside Kawana. There is not anywhere in Australia where we have such an intense quality of lifestyle as here, he said. The rowing lake, the canals... there are massive attributes. "Oceanside will be a celebration of the outdoors with pedestrian- friendly walkways and bikeways."
Predicted to be a 24/7 thriving hub of activity, it will be the first precinct of its kind on the Sunshine Coast.
"Often we joke around the barbecue about not being able to eat anywhere at midnight on the Coast,"Mr McMahon said. "But thats what this will bring to the table." Speaking at the Evans Long launch of Pulse, the precinct's first freehold medical centre, Mr McMahon said the Oceanside health hub and Kawana health campus would add $3.2 billion of value to the Sunshine Coast and Queensland.
"Key precinct's will be the learning precinct and the bus and rail interchange," he said.
"And the Oceanside town centre is the core of activity and retail offerings."
December is also the scheduled finish date of the Oceanside private hospital, which will be followed by a host of substantial developments in the Oceanside Health hub. We expect 12,000 new direct jobs in Oceanside. Its an exciting future," Mr McMahon said.
Matthew Evans of Evans Long agreed. "Its hard not to be excited he said. "The development industry has often championed the Government to provide a sustainable economy with local opportunities. "For us, this health hub is a leading chance to provide that." More key elements of the first stage of the health hub are expected to be announced in the next few weeks.
